The Garwood Police Department Detective Bureau The Detective Bureau is the investigative arm of the Garwood Police Department and is entrusted with numerous responsibilities. Members of this unit operate under various investigative specialties including Narcotics Detection, Homeland Security, Forensics & Identification, Financial Crimes, Cyber Crimes as well as general investigative responsibilities.

Following the initial response by officers within the Patrol Division, a case which requires additional investigative is the responsibility of the Detective Bureau. Members of this unit are charged with seeing the case through its development, investigating the case fully, and preparing it for prosecution. 

The Juvenile Bureau is part of the Detective Bureau which is tasked to investigate all juvenile related incidents and crimes within Garwood. The Bureau also acts in a proactive manner to prevent juvenile crime. We also help parents with crisis children and incorrigible delinquents. The Juvenile Bureau personnel always work closely with the schools and run the D.A.R.E. and G.R.E.A.T. programs.
